AMD (NASDAQ:AMD), a leading provider of high-performance computing and NTT Data, a global IT services provider, announced that they were partnering to enhance NTT Data’s Credit and Financial Information System (CAFIS) system. This will be carried out through the use of AMD’s processors for NTT Data’s cloud-based payment platform.

As quoted in the press release:

We look forward to bringing these advantages to other applications with additional deployments of AMD EPYC processors,” said Satoshi Haginoya, Sub Manager of Cards & Payments Services, NTT DATA.

The CAFIS brand covers a set of payment-related services that NTT DATA has been providing for over 30 years as one of the largest payment infrastructures in Japan. “CAFIS Arch” is a cloud-based comprehensive payment platform which provides payment functions as well as inbound functions and supplementary functions for various payment terminals.
