First Responder Technologies Inc. (CSE:WPN) has been featured in an article by the Toronto Sun regarding the company’s innovative Wi-Fi detection technology.

First Responder is working to develop its Wi-Fi detection technology in order to protect the public from safety threats at large events. The company aims to secure both the interior and exteriors of public spaces and buildings by creating a perimeter of the property, covertly detecting threats as they enter the premises. Whenever a person walks through the perimeter, First Responder’s Wi-Fi detection technology is able to detect metals of all sizes, revealing potential weapons including long guns and knives.

“All we’re doing is hoping to get a magic 10-15 seconds so that the on-site security officer or police officer get the alert and they can do something about it,” said First Responder CEO and director Robert Delamar. “Whether that’s something as simple as locking a door or interdicting the shooter.” The company is expected to begin alpha-testing its system in May in Canada, the UK and the United States.
