Quantenna Communications (NASDAQ:QTNA) announced that Orange Poland has launched a new smart Wi-Fi box based on Quantenna QV860 chipset.

Quantenna, a global provider of high performance Wi-Fi solutions said that the new product is a dual band and dual concurrent Wi-Fi repeater.

As quoted in the press release:

By extending coverage, increasing capacity and delivering faster speeds to all Wi-Fi devices throughout the home, the new Orange Smart Wi-Fi Box will take in-home wireless services to a new level and brings a comprehensive, high-performance and secured whole home Wi-Fi solution to the Orange customers. Additional features include auto-configuration, network mapping, Wi-Fi channel selection, client roaming management, band steering and video support.

“We go a step further, taking full advantage of the technological possibilities offered by fiber optics. We offer our clients, for the first time in Poland on such a scale, a speed of up to 1 Gbps. Optical fiber has never been so fast, and comfortable. We are also introducing a new generation of Wi-Fi to the market, Smart Wi-Fi, which provides a new quality of using the home network. Wi-Fi follows us around the house, automatically choosing the best connection method. All this so that each of the members of the household can make the most of the optical fiber, watch TV in the highest quality, work and communicate with friends, smoothly and without interruptions,” said Jean-François Fallacher, president of Orange Polska

“Leveraging QV860’s self-hosted architecture, we have pushed the envelope further and enabled Smart Wi-Fi to provide end users with equally high performance for any individual user, anywhere in the home,” said Dr. Sam Heidari, Chairman and CEO of Quantenna. “We are committed to bringing more innovations to our customers including Orange Poland.”

“Wi-Fi quality and connectivity have become central to enjoying any digital service at home especially video and TV services,” added David Viret-Lange, CEO of SoftAtHome. “With SoftAtHome Wifi’ON, we enable Smart Wi-Fi on existing Home Gateways such as the Funbox and extend it on repeaters such as the Smart Wi-Fi box from Orange Poland. Wifi’ON delivers stable, performant Wi-Fi, adapting to the multi usages we now have in our daily lives. We are working closely with Orange in Poland to ensure the best Wi-Fi experience ever to their end-users.”
