Baylin Technologies (TSX:BYL) announced that its subsidiary Advantech Wireless Technologies has received a follow up order for its 25W X-Band Gallium Nitride (GaN) technology based Block up Converters (BUCs) for military satellite terminals.
As quoted in the press release:
“Based on the results they have experienced with the same product from a previous order, an existing customer has placed a further order that will multiply their business with us”, said Baylin President and CEO, Randy Dewey.
The 25W GaN X-band BUCs are constructed with built-in design features that meet the most stringent military specifications. These units are WGS certified and perfectly suited for harsh environments, Satcom on the Move (SOTM) and man-pack terminal deployments.
“These advanced systems are extremely versatile and specially designed for outdoor operation,” explained Cristi Damian, VP Business Development at Advantech. “Our customers particularly appreciate the high linearity combined with small size and low energy consumption.”
The 25W X-Band GaN BUCs are integrated units, completed with power supply, phase-locked oscillator, mixer, filter and cooling mechanism weighing less than 2.5kg, or about 5 lbs.
