Baylin Technologies (TSX:BYL) announced that its subsidiary, Galtronics Corporation Ltd has begun shipping its 2′ pseudi omni 10-Port Canister basestation antennas for outdoor DAS and small cell applications.

The company recently announced a recently announced an one million dollars in order for its sapphireblue series 1,250W ku-band UltraLinear Gallium Nitride (GaN) based solid state power amplifier (SSPA) system from premier satellite broadcasting customers.

As quoted in the press release:

This antenna is being deployed mainly in customers C-RAN applications.  Jerry Kirshman, President and COO of Galtronics explains, “with C-RAN, which stands for Centralized RAN, the baseband processing for many cells can be centralized resulting in improved performance due to the ability to coordinate between cells. It can also reduce costs due to the pooling of resources.”

As an added feature, the antenna can be colour matched to its environment as it is available in gray, brown, black and a camouflage 3MConceal Film.
