Recent cybertheats showcase that they’re not going anywhere anytime soon, but are insiders or outsiders to blame? The infographic done by Visual Capitalist poses the question, “What’s the greatest cybersecurity threat?”

If anything’s certain in the cybersecurity industry, it’s that cyberthreats have been on the rise in 2017.
From the WannaCry attack that spread in May across 150 countries and roughly 300,000 computers, to the attack that arose out of Ukraine just last week, not only are cyberattacks increasing, but so are the attacks’ severity.
That said, some of the most serious cyberthreats date back a few years; for example, the Cryptolocker cyberthreat of 2013 infected roughly 250,000 computers.  Still, no matter which way you look at it, cybercrimes aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

With that in mind, the below infographic done by Visual Capitalist poses the question of what is the greatest cybersecurity threat? Insiders or outsiders? In short, the publication states that “it is actually malicious insider attacks” that tend to cause the most damage.
