Uranium: spot price slips, nuclear energy praised

Price publisher Ux Consulting lowered its spot uranium price to US$54 a pound U3O8. Uranium bulls say the slowdown is fueled by the upcoming winter holidays, during which markets traditionally slumber and commodity prices lose ground. The price slide comes just days after a supply-demand balance emerged in a market previously overloaded with cheap material. Long-term uranium prices are also flat and expected to remain at US$70 a pound U3O8 through the end of December.
