Pure Energy Minerals Ltd. (TSXV:PE) reported that the company’s operator, GeoXplor Corp., has commenced drilling work on the company’s Clayton Valley lithium brine prospects in Nevada.

As quoted in the press release:

The drilling work will commence with widening of the existing borehole CV-1, drilled in September and October, 2014. The recently completed downhole geophysical work completed in CV-1 refined the understanding of the brine-bearing horizons intersected in CV-1, and allows the optimum well installation to be designed. Following widening of CV-1, an eight-inch-diameter well will be installed that will allow pumping tests to be completed that will provide important hydrogeological parameters to be determined. These parameters will be helpful in determining future possible lithium brine pumping rates.

Pure Energy CEO Robert Mintak, said:

I am very happy to announce that our 2015 exploration work has begun. Our 2014 exploration work in Clayton Valley went smoothly, we successfully completed an exploratory drill program on CV1 and the recent acquisition and interpretation of downhole geophysical logging is providing us the data to optimize well design to support the development work underway toward producing a 43-101 inferred resource estimate. On successful completion of this phase we will be ready to drill test new targets.
