Reuters reported that Peru’s Volcan Compania Minera SAA (OTC Pink:VCANF) expects its silver production to rise to 30 million ounces next year. That would amount to an increase of 40 percent.
As quoted in the market news:
Volcan, whose shares are among the most liquid on Lima’s stock market, is on track to produce about 22 million ounces of silver this year.
“The goal is to grow by 40 percent, or increase by 8 million ounces of silver. This obviously means completing three major projects through 2013,” said Juan Jose Herrera, the miner’s general manager, said on local television.
