Silver prices fell today, with futures for March delivery hitting a low of $19.54 an ounce, Investing.com reported. Later, they rose slightly, to $19.67 an ounce; however, that is still down $0.37 from the previous session.

Trading activity was minimal today due to last week’s holiday and the fact that investors are winding down for the end of the year, the news outlet states. Kitco News also reported on the small amount of trading today, quoting Sterling Smith, futures specialist with Citi’s Institutional Client Group, as saying, “[w]e’re certainly still suffering from some holiday conditions here, with trade a little bit slow and a little bit sluggish.”
