In the platinum group metals, speculative activity was mixed, with platinum seeing a rise in net long positions held by speculators and palladium a fall. Managed-money accounts in the disaggregated report raised their platinum net long position to 11,841 contracts by adding to gross longs and cutting gross shorts, returning them to levels seen in early December. In the legacy report, the non-commercial traders added to their net long position in similar fashion hiking it to 19,742 contracts.
