RBPlat Says Contract Miner Strike to Impact Production

Mining Weekly reported Royal Bafokeng Platinum (JSE:RBP) said prolonged industrial action at the Bafokeng Rasimone platinum mine will affect production.

As quoted in the market news,

Workers employed by mining contractor JIC Mining Services downed tools on October 17, over a wage dispute with the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and JIC.

RBPlat investor relations manager Lindiwe Montshiwagae told Mining Weekly Onlinethat production lost over the last four days was equivalent to 2 240 platinum group elements (4E) ounces.
