Platinum Miner’s Expansion Plan to Soften Indigenisation Law Talks

Resource Investing News Mining Weekly reported Impala Platinum (JSE:IMP) announced that its Zimplats subsidiary will invest a significant amount of funds in a third expansion.
Mining Weekly reported Impala Platinum (JSE:IMP) announced that its Zimplats subsidiary will invest a significant amount of funds in a third expansion.
As quoted in the market news:
Newswire Sapa reported last month that, at the launch of the Zimbabwe Community Trust, which would see Zimplats sell a 10% shareholding in the company to Zimbabwe citizens, the company announced that it would invest $1-billion in the expansion.
The platinum miner is currently expanding Zimplats’ operations to increase production by 90 000 oz/y to 270 000 oz/y in 2014.
