Lonmin Forges Ahead, Resumes Production After Embarrassing Strike

Mining Weekly reported that platinum producer Lonmin has resumed production at its Saffy and Newman operations after an embarrassing wildcat strike on March 5 by the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) on the day that the company sponsored a media tour.

As quoted in the market news:

Lonmin has since resumed production and continues its endeavour to ramp up safety, ensure continuous and reliable production, restore investor faith and confidence by producing saleable ounces under difficult trading conditions, create sustainable value and rebuild trust with all stakeholders through enhancing its social value proposition.
