Mineweb reported an interview with Alec Hogg and Anglo American Platinum’s (LSE:AAL) CEO Neville Nicolau.
Anglo American Platinum’s CEO, Neville Nicolau said:
I think when you look at the market over the past, let’s say the past year and going into the next year, I think the auto sector has performed pretty well. The industrial sector has performed exceptionally well, jewellery is up and the one downside is investment. If we look at the underlying…the fundamentals of the platinum industry then I think that we were actually in quite good shape last year, the market was at least in balance and possibly in a slight deficit but the price that we saw, especially from September or so onwards, we think and our concern is that it was more sentiment driven than fundamental driven.
