Implats Miners Fail to Return to Work

Mining Weekly reported miners at Impala Platinum’s (JSE:IMP) Rustenberg mine failed to report for duty on Monday morning forcing a stoppage.

As quoted in the market news:

Implats has now given the rockdrill operators, who downed tools on January 20, until February 1 to return to work or face dismissal.

The work stoppage, which has been declared illegal, is costing Implats 3 000 oz/d in lost production.
