Anglo American Platinum Confirms Miners Joined Strike

Mining Weekly reported Anglo American Platinum (LSE:AAL) on Thursday confirmed that a small group of employees have resubmitted a list of demands that management reportedly received in July.

As quoted in the market news:

This followed Amplats’ voluntary shutdown of its operations in Rustenburg on Wednesday, to ensure the safety of its employees as intimidation in the area spread.

Some Amplats workers had joined the gathering on Thursday in the Bleskop stadium, in Rustenburg, but Amplats reported that the masses were dispersing.
