    Amplats Exec Sees Progress in AMCU Talks by Week’s End

    Reuters reported that Chris Griffiths, chief executive of Anglo American Platinum Ltd. (OTCMKTS:AGPPY), believes that by the end of the week, his company, along with Lonmin plc (LSE:LMI) and Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. (OTCMKTS:IMPUY), may see progress in its talks with South Africa’s Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU).

    Reuters reported that Chris Griffiths, chief executive of Anglo American Platinum Ltd.     ‘I think the end of this week we will start seeing some movement. On the ground it seems people don’t want this to be a protracted strike,’ Chris Griffiths told journalists in a conference call.
