AMCU Says Union Rejected CoM Bargaining Proposal for Platinum Sector

Mining Weekly reported that the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) president, Joseph Mathunjwa, said the union rejected the collective bargaining proposal of the Chamber of Mines (CoM) for the platinum sector.

As quoted in the market news:

Mathunjwa indicated that Amcu would not implement centralised negotiations and that “The status quo remains the same”. He added that the CoM could propose another meeting, but “it was still early days.”
