First-Ever Precious-Metals Basket ETF Launches

Morningstar.com reports that  Glitter (NYSE:GLTR), the first ever precious metals basket ETF, launched on Friday, allowing investors to have ownership of each share equal to about 0.03 troy ounces of gold, 1.1 ounces of silver, 0.006 ounces of palladium, and 0.004 ounces of platinum.

ETF Securities has been something of a ground breaker in the physically backed precious metals arena, having launched in 2009 and early 2010 four individual ETFs that physically back each of the four metals.
