Golden Predator Launches Kaska Kayeh Video; Provides Exploration Update
Golden Predator Mining Corp. (TSXV:GPY) (the “Company” or “Golden Predator”) is extremely pleased to announce the launch of Kaska Kayeh, filmed at its 3 Aces Project in Canada’s Yukon.
Golden Predator Mining Corp. (TSXV:GPY) (the “Company” or “Golden Predator”) is extremely pleased to announce the launch of Kaska Kayeh, filmed at its 3 Aces Project in Canada’s Yukon. Golden Predator, an innovative exploration company, created the video to document the way the Kaska Nation and Golden Predator work together in a cooperative and mutually beneficial manner which respects First Nation rights and culture. Golden Predator also provides an update of 2018 exploration activities at the Company’s 3 Aces Project and the Brewery Creek Project in Canada’s Yukon.
The Kaska Kayeh video was produced by Brian Ladue, a Kaska citizen, and can be viewed at: https://youtu.be/iEAnkoq6qOc. Golden Predator has worked with the Kaska Nation since 2010 and expanded this relationship to include the 3 Aces Project in 2015.
“It’s always a great pleasure to work with my Elders and land stewards, especially on important cultural and land related projects. It’s also very encouraging to see a company such as Golden Predator taking the lead on making efforts to change the status quo when it comes to how industry conducts themselves with First Nations,” said Brian Ladue, President of Northern Wild Productions. “Film is such a great medium to express cultural perspectives and is a powerful method to effectively reach many people in a positive and productive way. It truly is the evolution of storytelling in a modern world.”
“Golden Predator is committed to operating in an open and cooperative nature and to have a positive impact on the communities where we work,” said Janet Lee-Sheriff, CEO of Golden Predator. “The Kaska Kayeh video and our on-going Elders in Residence Program are only two examples of the multi-faceted approach we take to working closely and creatively with the community along with training, sound environmental practices, employment, service and supply contracts and a community development program.”
Exploration Update
The 1,000 m diamond drilling metallurgical testing program at its 100% owned, past producing Brewery Creek Project is now complete. Samples have been received by SGS Lakefield where testing will be conducted to establish amenability to vat leaching in order to enhance project economics. The metallurgical studies are expected to be completed by year end. In addition, ~800 m of exploration drilling, within and outside of existing resource areas was completed with results anticipated in the next several weeks. The exploration program was designed to expand the current limits of known mineralization.
The 2,500 m diamond drill program currently underway at the high-grade gold, 100% owned Sprogge Area of the Company’s 3 Aces Project is designed to target the primary structural control along 2 km of strike at varying depths ranging from near surface to ~200 m below surface. Drilling at Sprogge is expected to be complete within the next week with initial results anticipated in October 2018.
The Company has commenced its 2018 bulk sample program designed to reconcile tight spaced drill results, metal distribution modelling, geological interpretation and physical rock characteristics. Bulk sampling of approximately 6,000 metric tonnes is anticipated to be completed in approximately one month. Interim reporting will occur in Q4/18 with final results reported in 2019. With approximately 10% of the sampling completed, two new gold-bearing veins have been identified that were not intersected in previous drilling.
The bulk sample will be processed solely using conventional gravity recovery methods (crushing, grinding, sluicing and shaker tables) and will continue to provide valuable geological, engineering and metallurgical information while effectively demonstrating that gravity processing is sufficient to obtain high gold recoveries without the use of chemicals or elaborate equipment.
As a result of continued target identification and current bulk sampling, a reverse circulation (RC) drill program commenced on Aug 16, 2018 in the Central Core Area at the 3 Aces Project, it is expected to continue for up to 60 days. The objective for the continuing RC drill program will be to test new targets and new veins discovered during the bulk sampling program. In addition, diamond drilling will begin in the next few weeks in the Central Core Area designed to establish continuity between the original high-grade discoveries at the Ace of Hearts and the Spades areas; a distance of more than 1 km.
