Barkerville Gold Mines (TSXV:BGM) has been served with a proposed class action lawsuit relating to an August 2012 technical report for the Cariboo gold project. The proposed suit has commenced in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
As quoted in the press release:
The Notice of Action also names the Company’s former President and CEO, James Francis Callaghan, former CFO, Minaz Dhanani, the author of the Technical Report Peter T. George and his consulting company, Geoex Limited.
The representative plaintiff is requesting various orders and declarations in the Notice of Action, including $9,900,000 in damages, based on alleged misrepresentations in violation of Canadian securities regulatory requirements relating to the mineral resource estimate that was announced on June 28, 2012, and incorporated into various disclosure documents, including but not limited to, the Technical Report.
The Company has retained counsel and intends to vigorouslydefend its interest and protect its rights.
