Rapaport reported that during the week of August 26, rough diamonds from Rio Tinto plc’s (LSE:RIO,ASX:RIO,NYSE:RIO) Canada-based Diavik diamond mine will be available for viewing in Israel for the first time.
As quoted in the market news:
The diamonds will be sold through Rio Tinto’s new auction platform in Antwerp during the second week of September.
‘This is an opportunity to engage with the Israeli diamond industry and in doing so increase the awareness and understanding of the Diavik production and Rio Tinto Diamonds’ sales processes in the Ramat-Gan market,’ said Patrick Coppens, general manager of sales for Rio Tinto Diamonds.
