Reuters reported Gem Diamonds Ltd (LSE:GEMD) production rose during the first half of the year, although average diamond prices fell for the same period.

The company also said it suspended the formal process of exploring options for its Ellendale mine, which produces an estimated 50 percent of the worldā€™s supply of yellow diamonds, after receiving offers that were not ā€œat a sufficiently high enough level.ā€
