The first sale of the New York season netted a total of $19.96 million. The auctioneer said online bidding was an active element in the sale, with clients participating from locations including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Monaco, the United Kingdom, and all over the United States.
In addition to the ring, top prices were achieved for the following: a marquise-cut D 18.8-carat color diamond for $1.45 million; a heart-shaped D 12.75-carat color diamond for $965,000; and, a cushion-cut fancy yellow 34.12-carat diamond of $725,000.
