Debswana Beginning Diamond Mine Expansion in Botswana

Mining Weekly reported mining expansion is due to be completed in March 2012 in Botswana says Debswana.

As quoted in the market news:

The Jwaneng mine is owned by Debswana, a joint venture between the government of Botswana and international diamond giant De Beers.

The project, which began in December 2009, is trend- ing below budget and is aimed at extending the life of the Jwaneng diamond mine from 2017 to 2025, with an initial increase in the amount of mined waste.
