Versant Partners reported on Japan’s determination to proceed with nuclear plants and the economic reasons as to why this is the appropriate action despite public sentiment.
The market news is quoted as saying:
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda has stated that it is “impossible” for Japan to get by economically without nuclear power or under a quick phase out plan. Noting that a power shortage, “could bring down Japan’s economy”, Noda indicated that “if we want [nuclear power] to go down to zero, development of alternative energy must be advanced considerably … it’s still too early to say if we can get to that stage”.
