The press release is quoted as saying:

Much of the area was extensively mined for uranium from the 1950s to the early 1980s. The Cameco lease includes 7,940 acres of federal, 161 acres of state and 394 acres of private land. Vaughn says the company anticipates generating up to a million pounds of yellowcake (the base material for producing nuclear fuel) a year over the 20- to 25-year life of project.
