The Business Standard reported that Russian nuclear power company Rosatom aims to be one of the top global players in the sector despite sanctions from the West, which a senior officer said hasn’t affected it.

As quoted in the market news:

He was speaking at a session on financing of foreign projects of Rosatom at the 7th International Forum Atomexpo 2015 that began here on Sunday. Rosatom’s order book consists of overseas nuclear projects worth around $101 billion and is constructing 29 plants overseas.

“We want to be in the top three in all the nuclear power related fields of activity,” Krill Komorav, deputy director, international business, said.

In India, Rosatom is building two 1,000 MW nuclear power plants at Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu and two more will be set up. According to Komorav, the business has rebounded and Rosatom is not just involved in building nuclear power plants but also in supply of fuel and other chain of activities. Officials said the sanctions imposed by the Western nations last year on Russia have not impacted its operations.
