France Orders Special Forces to Safeguard Uranium Source in Niger

Reuters reported that France has sent special forces to protect uranium sites in Areva as possible rebel attacks threaten the safety of its interests.

As quoted in the market news:

The military source confirmed a report in weekly magazine Le Point that special forces and equipment would be sent to Areva’s uranium production sites in Imouraren and Arlit very quickly, but declined to go into further details.
