The Citizen reported on regulation for uranium mining.

As quoted in the market news:

The government has not yet enacted legislation to regulate uranium mining and monitor environment hazards, as well as the health and safety of surrounding communities despite promising to do so in the past.

Experts say lack of adequate uranium mining legislation and regulations has attracted companies to Africa because it was more expensive to mine in other mineral rich countries such as Canada and Australia due to stricter environmental and public health regulations.
