Bloomberg reported that according to the Energy Department, the U.S. raised estimates for natural gas production in 2012 and in 2013 due to higher output from shale reserves.

As quoted in the market news:

Production in 2013 was estimated at 68.52 billion cubic feet a day, up from 68.04 billion estimated last month.
