The Globe and Mail reported that thousands of gallons of oil have flowed onto the streets of Los Angeles following a break in a half-metre-above-ground pipeline near San Fernando Road in Atwater Village in Los Angeles. The LA Fire department reported no injuries, but noted that oil levels were as high as knee deep in some places.

As quoted in the publication:

An earlier statement from the fire department said the spill was 1 million gallons, but it subsequently revised the estimate down to 50,000 gallons, which would be just over 1,000 barrels. Local media later reported that had been revised down again, to 10,000 gallons.
