Bloomberg reported that oil inched up on U.S. Economic Data and on concern over growing tension in the Middle East.

As quoted in the market news:

Crude oil for February delivery gained 29 cents, or 0.3 percent, to settle at $99.65 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices have gained 9.1 percent this year.
