    Metal Bulletin reported that German technology metals supplier HC Starck doesn’t prioritize sourcing its tungsten from Africa.

    Metal Bulletin reported that German technology metals supplier HC Starck  doesn’t prioritize sourcing its tungsten from Africa. However, the company is not adverse to doing so, pending the material is traceable and completely conflict free.

    According to the report, a spokeswoman from the company commented:

    As a large-scale tungsten consumer, we are always open for possible opportunities. The important criteria for HC Starck are not only the traceability and the conflict-free status of the materials. Equally important are the quality, the quantity and the consistent material composition of the ores.
