    Reuters reports that U.S. President Barack Obama could raise the issue of Chinese control of rare earth minerals with Beijing at the G20 meeting next month.

    Reuters reports that U.S. President Barack Obama could raise the issue of Chinese control of rare earth minerals with Beijing at the G20 meeting next month.

    The market news is quoted as saying:

    ā€œI think we are likely to see (Chinese) President Hu (Jintao) on the trip at the G20,ā€ said White House spokesman Robert Gibbs. He said the president’s national security and economic advisers were monitoring reports China may be exploiting its grip on rare earth metals, crucial in the making of everything from portable phones to wind turbines.
