China Rare Earth Prices Mostly Firm on Crackdown

Reuters Africa reported that the pending shutdown of three Chinese rare earth mines caused prices to rise.

The market news is quoted as saying:

This week, Li Guoqing, director of the mining management bureau of Ganzhoucity in the eastern province of Jiangxi, said three of eight major rare earthproducing counties would stop production by year-end.
