China 2010 Rare Earth Exports Drop 9.3%

Bloomberg reports that exports of rare earths from China fell by 9.3 percent last year as the government tightened domestic mining to curb pollution.

The market news is quoted as saying:

China exported 39,813 metric tons of rare earths elements in 2010, according to customs data released today. The value of the exports more than tripled to $939.7 million.
