Will South Africa Miss the Boom?

Financial Mail reported on the possibility of South Africa missing out on the profit potential from the current resources boom.

The editorial is quoted as saying:

Major mining investments under way in SA include Xstrata’s R4,9bn expansion of the Lion ferrochrome plant, which had been waiting for Eskom to promise electricity supply; three new shafts being built at Impala Platinum’s Rustenburg complex; Gold Fields’ South Deep expansion; and two new manganese mines in the Northern Cape.
