Hongxin Group to Increase 2013 Electrolytic Manganese Production by 38 Percent

Platts reported that Hongxin Group intends to increase its output of electrolytic manganese of 99.7 percent purity from 2012’s 80,000 mt to 110,000 mt in 2013, to meet burgeoning demand.

As quoted in the market report:

The company sells to local steelmakers and exports to South Korea, Japan, Europe and India. The source said demand from overseas buyers had surged after the Chinese government removed a 20% export tax on electrolytic manganese from January 1, 2013.
