Aboriginal Land Councils Look at Manganese Mining Proposal

9News reported that Australian Aboriginal land councils are once again considering a proposal to mine manganese at Groote Eylandt.

As quoted in the market news:

The ALC’s chairman, Tony Wurramarrba, said traditional owners would oppose any mining that had “significant cultural, environment and social impacts” on Aboriginal people in the Gulf.
