Cobre Montana Produces Battery-grade Lithium Carbonate Using Lepidolite

Cobre Montana NL (ASX:CXB) announced that during proof-of-concept testing it demonstrated the ability to use lepidolite to make battery-grade lithium carbonate.

Cobre Montana NL (ASX:CXB) announced that during proof-of-concept testing it demonstrated the ability to use lepidolite to make battery-grade lithium carbonate. The move “paves the way for lepidolite to be used as a lithium ore.”

As quoted in the press release:

The lithium carbonate was generated from lepidolite concentrates recovered from Lepidolite Hill, part of the Coolgardie Rare Metals Venture, an initiative of CXB and Focus Minerals Limited (ASX:FML). These concentrates had a yield of 81% and grade of 3.34% Li2O.
