TIMCAL Suspends Graphite Production at Quebec Mine

Industrial Minerals reported that Switzerland-based graphite producer TIMCAL Graphite & Carbon, a member of Imerys SA (EPA:NK), has temporarily stopped mining at its Lac des Iles graphite mine, located in the Canadian province of Quebec.

Fabrizio Corti, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Timcal, commented:

We have suspended mining [at Lac des Iles] owing to high inventory levels, but we are continuing with our processing activities and to supply our customers.
