    • Land Access License (DUAT) expected shortly

Tolga Kumova, managing director at Syrah, commented:

We have been working proactively with all stakeholders including the Mozambique Government to achieve this significant milestone. The awarding of the Environmental License is the culmination of 2 years of community consultation, base line studies and environmental impact assessments. This license will ensure that the Balama Graphite Project will adhere to and be operated at the highest environmental standards.

We would like to acknowledge the efforts of the staff within the Ministry of Land, Environmental and Rural Development for their efforts in reviewing and supporting Syrah’s Environmental License application. With the land access license currently being reviewed Syrah expects all key approvals to be in place shortly. These approvals will allow Syrah to rapidly move towards the financing and construction of the Balama Graphite Project.
