Nauru to Mine Cobalt in International Waters

ABC Radio Australia reported an interview with Robert Haydon, Vice President of Nauru Ocean Resources, on plans to mine seabeds in the Pacific Ocean.

VP Robert Haydon said:

There is actually research out there that demonstates that it is prospective in this particular area, and to date, that’s what the world considers the most prospective for these seafloor manganese nodule deposits, which are basically like golf balls siting on the sea floor which are rich in manganese, nickel, copper and cobalt.
