IMF Might Extend Three-Year, $531 Million Loan Program to DRC

Bloomberg reported that the IMF is considering the possibility of extending a three-year, $531 million loan program  to the DRC after the government released partial details of a controversial 2011 mining deal.

As quoted in the market report:

The IMF is currently assessing the sufficiency of the note to decide on the timing of a mission and the extension of the loan facility,” Oscar Melhado, the IMF resident representative in Congo, said in a phone interview today from Kinshasa, the capital.
