GM’s New Battery Chemistry? It’s Already In the Chevy Volt

World Energy Media reported that GM announced it would begin using an advanced lithium-ion electrode material in the Chevy Volt’s batteries.

The market news is quoted as saying:

The bulk of the research dedicated to improving lithium-ion batteries over the past two decades has focused on the cathode: on finding new materials and tweaking them atom by atom to make a better battery.
