Global Company Awarded Shaft Sinking and Equipping Contract for Mopani

Mining Weekly reported that Mopani has awarded the shaft sinking and equipping contract for its Nkana copper-cobalt mine to Murray & Roberts Cementation.

As quoted in the market news:

A 6-m-diameter raise bore ventilation shaft will form part of the full project. By 2018, the new shaft will boost Nkana’s ore production from 3.4-million tons a year to 5.1-million tons a year..
