MetalBulletin reported that cobalt prices reached a 12-month high this week on the back of demand from the battery sector and new interest from the catalyst sector.

As quoted in the market news:
Low-grade prices climbed to $13.75-14.60 per lb on Friday June 21, up from $13.55-14.55 on Wednesday June 19. This was the highest level since June 6 2012, and a far cry from the 2012 low of $10.20-11.70, reached in December. High-grade prices hit $14-15.25 per lb on Friday, up from $13.85-15.25 on Wednesday.
