Cell Phone Batteries a Source of Cobalt

MetalBulletin reported that Li Jianzhong, general manager of Beijing Easpring Material Technology Co. Ltd. (SHE:300073), said at a Chengdu-based conference that Chinese cobalt smelters can use cell phone batteries as a source of the metal.

As quoted in the market news:

Used mobile phones as a source of cobalt metal is almost completely untapped, Li said at a conference in Chengdu, where Chinese cobalt smelters also kicked off negotiations with global miners for 2014 raw material supply.
